This was as close to a self portrait I have ever come to doing. It was not a great time in my life and the words across the board are random questions and statements I was asking myself at the time. Alot of them were over written numerous times, to the point were it is unreadable in parts. I guess 'cos I was questioning myself alot. I wish I was good with words and expressing myself.
That's a very personal painting Nick. Sad, melancholy and very real. I love it, and appreciate you sharing it. Has a kind of beautiful sadness to it which brings a tear to my eye. Must have been quite a dark time in your life. If you were here now and feeling like that, I'd hold you tight..... We are ultimately alone in this world Nick, often with a great sadness inside which we will only reveal to a likeminded soul...... I'd hang your artwork on my wall anyday Nick - you're very good at bringing out emotions......
